Miao Flower Dance Festival draws over 20,000 attendees

The Flower Dance Festival, celebrated by the Miao ethnic group, began Monday in Fenghuang county, Hunan province, as part of April Eighth Festival, a traditional holiday that falls on the eighth day of the fourth lunar month in the Chinese calendar.

Over 20,000 locals and tourists from Hunan, Guizhou, Chongqing, and beyond gathered at the county, where a sacred tree stood adorned with colorful ribbons at dawn.
